Hello!
Are there plans to make this extension somehow compatible? By - perhaps - disabling the @mention component of cbb Follower?
The reason I'm asking is because I have been using simple mentions for a very long time and a handful of other extensions depend on it. Or should cbb Follower's @mention system plug right into the other extensions as well if I use that one?
Hope my question makes sense... thank you!

I wanted to suggest something here - maybe also as a stopgap solution for people making a transition between extensions.
Could this in theory be solved by having an option for #mention instead of @mention?
So @mention would invoke the Simple Mentions or BBMention extension for those who have it installed, and #mention would use the cBB Follower one?

How did you get yours to even work. I posted a question about it because on mine the MENTIONS won’t work at all. Had to use SIMPLE MENTIONS because there’s not that much support here

Installed it and enabled the extension... it just worked for me. I'm on Simple Mentions now and I can't move away from it as other extensions now depend on it, but I didn't have issues with @mention from cBB Follower.
I also would respectfully disagree with a lack of support. Most of not all of the issues I have reported over the years have been fixed or worked around in a timely fashion and given how inexpensive the extensions from this site are I'd say that's pretty darn impressive.

Going based of what I’ve seen. Seen another guy with same issue about comments not working properly since April. So for now I can’t use the wall as main profile because of the comments glitch. Hopefully they can get around to fixing the glitches found

development <-
Looks like some Follower dev is happening and there's a good chance your issue is being addressed in that version.

I see you're in dev for an upcoming version and wanted to ask if you had given this topic any thought at all?
Thanks!

Sometimes I don't respond to a topic due to lack of time but I take into account all suggestions and bug reports. That doesn't mean I implement everything. I'll evaluate it as I go.
On the other hand:
The # is reserved for "tags" so I can't use it for mentioning. Anyway, the "universal" mention symbol has always been @ . I don't think that will change.
